Summary

Back Lock and Cable Assembly Replacement Procedure

Remove Seat Cushion

Remove the seat cushion from the chair base.

Remove Cowl and Side Panels

Unscrew and detach the cowl and side panels from the chair back.

Release Lock Handle and Screws

Loosen the lock handle and remove associated screws.

Remove Chair Arms (Optional)

Detach the chair arms if necessary.

Loosen Tension Knob

Loosen the tension knob on the chair base.

Detach Mechanism from Seat Shell

Apply pressure and detach the mechanism from the seat shell.

Disconnect Operational Cable

Disconnect the operational cable from its connection point.

Remove Back Lock and Cable Assembly

Remove the back lock and cable assembly from the seat shell.

Replace and Connect New Assembly

Install and connect the new back lock and cable assembly.

Re-attach Cable to Lock Shaft

Re-attach the cable to the back lock shaft and secure the clip.

Re-attach Panels and Mechanism

Replace the panels and reconnect the control mechanism to the seat shell.

Replace Seat Screws

Reinstall seat screws, torquing them to 75-100 in./lbs.

Replace Panels, Cowl, and Arms

Reinstall the panels, cowl, and chair arms.

Replace Seat Cushion

Reinstall the seat cushion onto the chair.
