12 Maintenance and
Care
This device is maintenance free. If the
diaphragm of the sensor is calcified, the
device must be sent to Stein Sohn for
professional cleaning.
The device should be cleaned at least
every 6 months. Cleaning intervals have
to be shortened if there is a heightened
chance of clogging due to the measuring
medium. The proper intervals for
cleaning must be set by the personnel in
authority of maintenance.
12.1 Cleaning
1. Dismount the sensor according to
chapter 13,
2. Check the sensor for external damage.
3. Wipe down the device with a damp
cloth and cleaning solution.
12.2 Troubleshooting
1. Dismount the sensor according to
chapter 13,
2. Check the sensor for external damage.
► Any damage must be photogra-
phed. In case of a claim, those
pictures are needed for the
documentation.
CAUTION
Do not clean with compressed air.
CAUTION
Do not use aggressive cleaning solu-
tions.
3. Check if the diaphragm is encrusted.
► Light stains on the diaphragm can
be removed using a soft sponge.
► In case of heavy encrustation the
device must be sent to Stein Sohn
for cleaning.
4. Check the supply voltage.
(target value between 18 and 30V
DC)
► In case of deviations, the power
supply must be checked.
5. Connect a multimeter (mA range) to
the + connection. (target value 4mA
(±0,02) when under no pressure)
► In case of deviations the sensor
must be sent to Stein Sohn for
repairs.
If none of the previous steps identifies
any errors the sensor is working as it
should. Any remaining errors must
therefore be located in the interface or
the system.
The measuring results of the
previous tests must be
documented and delivered to
Stein Sohn with the sensor for
repairs.
CAUTION
Inappropriate modifications and
opening of the device may lead to
damages. Repairs may therefore only
be done by Stein Sohn.
