Always check and, if necessary, repair the
fuel system, carburetor, air filter and ignition
system before looking for faults on the
engine.
- Troubleshooting chart - see 2.2.
- Drain the fuel and oil tanks.
- Remove the shroud - see 3.2.
- Unscrew the spark plug.
- Remove the muffler - see 4.1.
- Remove the carburetor - see 11.3.
- Pull the washer off the studs and
remove the sleeve from the manifold.
Note: The previous backing plate
and gasket were replaced by the
washer and sleeve from machine
number X 20 742 548.
Reassemble in the reverse sequence.

- Release and unscrew the cylinder - Release the hose clamp on the
base screws. manifold. Pull the manifold off the intake
port.
- Pull the cylinder off the piston and, at
the same time, push the manifold - Inspect the cylinder and replace
through the tank housing opening. it if necessary.
Caution: Do not use pointed or Note: If a new cylinder has to be
