– Turn the clutch housing over.
– Remove the brake band and
brake lever, b 5.2, b 5.3
– Remove the flat spring and
retainer, b 5.3
: Heat clutch housing in area of
bearing seat (arrows) to
about 120°C (250°F).
: Use press arbor (2)
1117 893 7200 to remove both
ball bearings (1).
– Check the clutch housing,
replace if necessary.
: Inspect sealing faces (arrows) on
clutch and gearbox housing;
remove gasket residue and clean
the sealing faces – if sealing
faces are damaged, always
replace the parts concerned,
b 13
If the clutch housing has to be
replaced, check serviceability of
components mounted to old clutch
housing and replace as necessary –
install new ball bearings.

If the clutch housing has to be
heated, remove mounted
components first.
– Remove the brake band and
brake lever, b 5.2, b 5.3
– Remove the flat spring and
retainer, b 5.3
– Turn the clutch housing over.
: Heat clutch housing in area of
bearing seat (arrows) to
about 120°C (250°F) and knock it
on a wooden base until the ball
bearing (1) drops out.
– Clean the clutch housing.

Installing
Ball bearings for clutch drum
Fit the ball bearings quickly
because they absorb heat and
begin to expand.
: Heat clutch housing in area of
bearing seat (arrows) to
about 120°C (250°F).
: Apply press arbor 4119 893 7200
to outer race and press home the
closed ball bearing (1) first, then
the other ball bearing (2) as far as
stop.
: Use pliers 0811 641 8380 to
install the circlip (1).
