Different quantities of oil are required for
different bar lengths, types of wood and
cutting techniques.
N Pull the choke lever to close the
choke shutter.
N Remove the air filter cover and the
air filter.
N Use the adjusting screw (1) on the
back wall of the oil tank to vary the
oil feed rate as required.
N Hold the adjusting screw (1) steady
with a 10 mm open-end wrench.
N Use a second 10 mm open-end
wrench to loosen the locknut (2).
N To reduce oil feed – turn the
adjusting screw (1) clockwise.
N To increase oil feed – turn the
adjusting screw (1)
counterclockwise.
One third of a turn changes the oil feed
rate to approximately what is required
for the next guide bar length.
N Tighten down the locknut.
N Fit the air filter and filter cover.
NOTICE
The chain must always be coated with a
film of lubricant.
The manual pump (arrow) provides
additional chain lubrication in special
situations:
– Cutting for long periods with extra
long bars
– At low temperatures
– After a long out-of-service period
– Before starting
This helps protect the cutting attachment
from excessive wear.
N Flip the bar – after each sharpening
and each time the chain is changed
– to avoid uneven wear, especially
at the sprocket nose and on the
bottom
N Periodically clean the oil inlet
hole (1), oil outlet channel (2) and
bar groove (3)
N Measure groove depth – using the
measuring tool on the file gauge
(special accessory) – in the area
with the greatest wear
