– Observe the instructions on cleaning
the engine (see engine instruction
manual).
– Remove grass residues from the
gearbox (by brushing off), remove any
other dirt from the gearbox.
– Check the cooling ribs of the engine
and hydrostatic gearbox and clean if
necessary.
Maintenance operations after the first
10 operating hours (initial operation):
– An inspection by your specialist dealer
is recommended.
STIHL recommends STIHL specialist
dealers.

RT 6112 C, RT 6112 ZL, RT 6127 ZL).
Maintenance operations after every 50

– Check the installation position of the
mowing deck. (Ö 15.14)
Maintenance operations after every 100
operating hours:

15.2 Cleaning the machine
● Stop the engine. (Ö 13.3)
● Engage the parking brake. (Ö 8.14)
● Remove the ignition key and keep it in a
safe place.
● Remove the mowing deck. (Ö 14.1)
● First, remove accumulated clipping
deposits in the mowing deck housing
using a stick.
● Clean the underside of the mowing
deck with water and a brush.
● When cleaning the upper side of the
mowing deck, ensure that the V-belt
and toothed belt do not get wet – never
spray water into the openings in the
covers.
● Clean the discharge chute using
running water and a brush when
removed and well away from the
machine.
● Remove grass residues from the
mowing deck (upper and underside),
engine compartment and gearbox.
Clean the cooling ribs of the engine and
gearbox.
● Clean the mowing blades with water
and a brush – under no circumstances
should you hit the mowing blades
(e.g. with a hammer) to loosen dirt.
● Remove the grass catcher box clean
using running water and a brush well
away from the machine. (Ö 13.10)
15.3 Opening the engine hood
Hold the engine hood (1) with one hand at
the handle (2) and open by pulling gently
upwards.
Fold the engine hood (1) forwards to the
stop.
All required maintenance
operations on the brake system and
gearbox are carried out during the
inspection.
Avoid damage to the machine!
Never spray water (high-pressure
cleaner) onto engine components,
seals, electrical components
(battery, wiring harness, etc.) and
bearing points. This may result in
damage and expensive repairs.
Do not use aggressive cleaning
agents. These cleaners can
damage plastics and metals,
impairing the safe operation of your
STIHL machine. If you are unable
to remove the dirt with water using
a brush or a cloth, STIHL
recommends the use of a special
cleaner (e.g. STIHL special
cleaner).
Always remove the mowing deck
for cleaning and maintenance
operations.
Danger of burns!
Allow the engine to cool down
before opening the engine hood.
