Replacing the starter rope
: Undo the screws (1)
: Remove the starter cover (2) from
the engine unit
: Prise off the spring clip (3)
: Remove the rope rotor with
washer (4) and pawl (5)
: Lever the rope out of the starter
handle with a screwdriver
: Remove the remaining rope from
the rope rotor and starter handle
: Thread the new rope (see
"Specifications") through the starter
handle and the rope guide bush (6)
from top to bottom
: Draw the rope through the rope
rotor and secure it in the rotor with a
simple knot
Replacing the starter rope
and rewind spring
