On delivery from the factory, the bearing
with guard is mounted on the inboard
side of the cast arm.
Depending on requirements, the bearing
with guard can also be mounted on the
outboard side.
Assembly on the inboard side is
recommended for freehand cutting on
account of the better balance; outboard
mounting is recommended when the
machine is mounted on a STIHL cut-off
machine cart.
Versions
There are two different deflector
versions for the TS 700.
There is only version B for the TS 800.

Outboard mounting
Version A (TS 700)
: Disassemble the cutting wheel (see
"Fitting / replacing a cutting wheel").
: Take out the banjo bolt (1).
: Remove the square nut from the
guide from the inboard side of the
guard.
: Remove the water attachment (2)
from the adjusting lever.
