Exhaust emissions are controlled by the
design of the fundamental engine
parameters and components (e.g.
carburation, ignition, timing and valve or
port timing) without the addition of any
major hardware.
Basic information
The ignition system of this cut-off
machine is equipped with an electronic
maximum speed limiter. Unlike the case
with conventional ignition, the maximum
speed cannot be increased beyond a
specified limit when adjusting the
carburetor.
The machine similarly cannot be
trimmed to "optimum performance" by
adjusting its speed.
The carburetor comes from the factory
with a standard setting.
This is the optimum setting under the
barometric pressure and climatic
conditions at the factory.
As a result, the engine performs
optimally with efficient fuel consumption.
If the setting is too lean, the
engine may be damaged by
overheating and a shortage of
lubricant.
Standard setting
: Switch off engine
: Check the air filter and
replace it if necessary.
: Check the spark arresting screen in
the muffler and clean or replace it if
necessary.
: Carefully turn the high speed
adjusting screw (H) anticlockwise
as far as possible (max. 3/4 turn).
: Carefully turn the low speed
adjusting screw (L) clockwise as far
as possible, then open it 1 turn.
