Foreword
Congratulations on choosing a SUBARU vehicle equipped with EyeSight
TM
.
EyeSight incorporates the latest driver assistance features available from
SUBARU, including such features as Adaptive Cruise Control, a Lead Vehicle Start
Alert and a Lane Departure and Lane Sway Warning, all of which are designed to
assist the driver in making decisions and increase driver comfort and
convenience. Initially, the operation and use of the various EyeSight features may
be unfamiliar to you. That is why we urge you to read this manual carefully before
using EyeSight. We also recommend that you first take the time to test EyeSight in
order to experience its features for yourself so that you can become familiar with
their operation.
Please keep in mind that it is the responsibility of drivers to operate their vehicles
safely at all times. Drivers should always remain alert and should never become
complacent while operating their vehicles because of the presence of EyeSight.
EyeSight is never a substitute for active driver involvement and it may not operate
optimally under all driving conditions.
This booklet is a supplement to the Owner’s Manual for your SUBARU vehicle and
contains a detailed description of EyeSight. It should be read in conjunction with
your Owner’s Manual so that you will gain a thorough understanding of the proper
operation of your vehicle.
The information, specifications and illustrations found in this booklet are those in
effect at the time of printing. SUBARU CORPORATION reserves the right to
change specifications and designs at any time without prior notice and without
incurring any obligation to make the same or similar changes on vehicles
previously sold.
Please keep this booklet together with your Owner’s Manual and leave it in the
vehicle at the time of resale. The next owner will need the information it contains.

What causes noise when automatic braking control activates in my Subaru?
    • K
      kelli94Sep 13, 2025
The sound you hear is the normal operation of the automatic braking control. The system has mechanical components that may make audible sounds during automatic braking control. This does not indicate a malfunction.

What to do if Adaptive Cruise Control cannot be set in Subaru EyeSight?
    • J
      John LarsenAug 25, 2025
First, ensure that you have pressed the (CRUISE) switch; the (Adaptive Cruise Control indicator) will not appear if you haven't. Next, check if EyeSight operation is temporarily stopped, indicated by the (EyeSight temporary stop indicator). If so, resolve the cause of the stop and then try setting Adaptive Cruise Control again. Finally, confirm that the (READY indicator) is displayed, as Adaptive Cruise Control cannot be set without it.

Why is my Subaru EyeSight Automobile Accessories Lane Keep Assist unexpectedly canceled?
    • D
      Douglas LawrenceAug 26, 2025
Lane Keep Assist may be temporarily canceled if the system cannot detect steering operation, which can happen if you take your hands off the steering wheel or only lightly touch it. Also, Lane Keep Assist does not operate while turning a tight corner.

      ablackwellSep 13, 2025
If the Auto Start Stop warning indicator illuminates, shift the select lever to the P position and start the engine with the brake pedal depressed. If the warning light does not turn off after the engine starts, immediately contact a SUBARU dealer to have the system inspected.

Why is acceleration sometimes slower or faster in my Subaru Automobile Accessories when the vehicle in front moves away?
    • C
      Christopher CantrellSep 22, 2025
If the vehicle ahead turns off the road or the distance between vehicles increases, EyeSight’s reaction may be slower. This can cause acceleration to feel delayed and braking time to feel longer than expected.

Why is not displayed on my Subaru EyeSight Automobile Accessories?
    • M
      Melissa RyanSep 6, 2025
The symbol in your Subaru Automobile Accessories will not be displayed if the requirements for setting cruise control are not met. These requirements include: the brake pedal is depressed, the vehicle speed is over 90 MPH (145 km/h), the combination meter indicates a position other than D (select lever or paddle shift switches are manually operated), the driver’s seatbelt is unfastened, any door is opened (except the rear gate/trunk), the vehicle is on a steep grade, the steering wheel is turned significantly, or the parking brake is released.
  • B
    Brian KingSep 7, 2025
Why is my Subaru Adaptive Cruise Control braking frequently in heavy traffic?
    • J
      Jay WellsSep 7, 2025
When Adaptive Cruise Control is activated, the EyeSight system controls the car based on the movement of vehicles or objects in front. As a result, acceleration and deceleration may be more frequent while the system adjusts to vehicles or objects the camera system is detecting. If maintaining a consistent following distance is difficult under certain conditions (such as in heavy traffic, poor weather, or urban environments), it is advised not to use Adaptive Cruise Control.

Why doesn't Lane Keep Assist operate in my Subaru EyeSight Automobile Accessories, even with lane markers?
    • D
      Don WatsonSep 23, 2025

Why does Lane Keep Assist not operate even though there are lane markers for Subaru EyeSight?
    • D
      Donna CastanedaAug 31, 2025
To operate Lane Keep Assist, the width of the road should be between approximately 10 ft (3 m) and 15 ft (4.5 m).
