2.9.1 FX AND FH FILTERS–REMOVING AIR
FILTER BODY AND REPLACING THE
ELEMENT
1. Filter elements must be replaced once
per year or when the differential pressure
indicator turns from green to red. Perfor-
mance should be monitored.
2. IMPORTANT: Shutoff the air supply and
discharge all pressure to the filter.
3. Remove the air filter body from the
housing, (see Figure 2-4).
4. Take out the dirty element, (see
Figure 2-5).
5. Check the O-ring on the new
element and install the element into the
housing.
6. Check the O-ring in the head of
housing. Replace if necessary with
O-ring provided with the replacement
element.
7. Clean and lubricate the threads (with non-
petroleum based lubricant for some specific
applications) on the body before reassembly.
8. Connect the system to the air supply.
9. Check for leakage.
WARNING
Filter housing must be fully depressurized
before attempting to install dp gauge, drain,
replace elements or perform any mainte-
nance.Failure to install properly may cause
danger or injury to persons or damage to
property. See below for how to depressurize
the FX filters.
