What to do if Sunrise Lathe motor cannot start?
    • B
      Brandy PatrickAug 7, 2025
If the motor of your Sunrise Lathe doesn't start, there are several potential causes. First, check the power source to ensure it's properly connected. Verify that the isolator switch is in the ON position. Make sure that both emergency buttons are released by turning the knob to the right. Inspect the motor power cable for proper connection and replace it if it's worn. Also, check if the motor circuit breaker has tripped to the OFF position and reset it if necessary. Examine the fuse and replace it if broken. Finally, the motor, magnetic switch, or transformer might be broken, requiring replacement.

Why Sunrise Lathe motor is on, but machine won't move?
    • B
      Brittany HillAug 21, 2025
If the motor of your Sunrise Lathe is running but the machine isn't moving, several issues could be the cause. It's possible the motor is turning in the wrong direction; turn the machine off, change any two of the three power source wires, and re-check the motor direction. Insufficient hydraulic oil could also be the problem; check the oil level and add oil if needed. A stuck solenoid valve can prevent movement, so clean or replace the valve. Also, a burnt out solenoid valve coil or a stuck/burnt out relay will require replacement. Ensure the interlocked safety covers are closed and that the limit switch is set at the correct position for proper stroke travel setting. Finally, check the foot paddle and replace the switch if it's not sending a signal.
