What to do if SunSetter Accessories awning/motor doesn't respond to the remote properly?
    • G
      Glenn OrtegaAug 7, 2025
First, unplug the motor, wait two seconds, and plug it back in. If the motor jogs, proceed to Section A. If it doesn't, go to Section B. Section A involves pressing and holding the CLOSE and OPEN buttons together on the remote until the motor jogs, then pressing and holding the PROGRAMMING button until the motor jogs again. Finally, test for proper operation. Section B involves pressing and holding the CLOSE and OPEN buttons together on the remote until the motor jogs, then performing Steps 9-18 in Appendix D on Page 26. Finally, test for proper operation. If neither Section A nor Section B fixes the issue, perform Steps 1-18 in Appendix D on Page 26, or call SunSetter Technical Support at 800-670-7071.

      Shawna NorrisAug 21, 2025
To self-test the remote transmitter, press each button (CLOSE, OPEN, my) on the front of the remote, one at a time. Hold each button for 5 to 10 seconds. The LED light should blink for at least 5 seconds, then stop blinking. If this happens, the remote transmitter is working correctly. If not, replace the remote transmitter’s battery with a new Lithium CR2430.
