Why does the SunSetter Indoor Furnishing fabric roll up unevenly?
    • D
      David WalkerJul 28, 2025
First, check that the aluminum housing is level on the mounting surface. Second, ensure the guiding cables are completely plumb. Both the aluminum housing and the cable brackets must be installed on the same vertical plane for the fabric to open and close smoothly. Check that the guiding cable is plumb front to back and left to right. You may need to move the cable brackets or shim them to ensure they are on the same vertical plane.

What to do if the SunSetter Indoor Furnishing remote transmitter fails to open or close the EasyShade?
    • T
      Tina WhiteAug 2, 2025
First, verify the GFI electrical outlet is working. Second, test the remote transmitter (Channel 1) by pressing each button for 5 to 10 seconds; the LED light should blink for at least 5 seconds. If it doesn't, replace the remote's battery with a new Lithium CR2430. If power and the remote are good, consult 'Additional Motor Troubleshooting'.

Why does the SunSetter Indoor Furnishing fabric appear folded or pleated?
    • P
      Paula FloresAug 16, 2025
Check the fabric to ensure it extends freely from the housing when the DOWN button is pressed. If the fabric remains in the housing while the motor turns, it can get pleated. To fix this, ensure the fabric doesn't stick inside the housing, especially in freezing conditions. Also, move the closed position so the sewn hem at the bottom of the fabric, where the aluminum leading bar is located, is just below the opening of the aluminum housing.

Can I hard-wire the SunSetter Indoor Furnishing Motorized EasyShade motor?
    • D
      Dennis HamiltonAug 21, 2025
The manufacturer is not responsible for electrical configuration changes. Contact Somfy (the motor manufacturer) directly through their website at http://www.somfy.com for more information. Note that hard-wiring the Motorized EasyShade can interfere with maintenance procedures, such as resetting communication between the remote transmitter and the motor, which requires power interruption.

What to do if my SunSetter Indoor Furnishing Motorized EasyShade won't function after installation?
    • A
      alan46Nov 10, 2025
First, use the remote transmitter on Channel 1 that came with your motorized EasyShade, as each remote transmitter is unique. The remote transmitter should be set to work on Channel 1. Test the power receptacle by plugging in a small appliance. Visually inspect the power cord for damage. Listen to the motor by pressing the UP or DOWN button on the remote transmitter. If the motor turns, the problem could be mechanical with the fabric panel; try tugging on the leading bar. If the motor doesn't turn, perform a self-test on the remote transmitter by pressing and holding the UP or DOWN button for 5 to 10 seconds. If the LED light blinks, the remote works; if not, replace the battery. Also, in extreme cold, ensure the fabric panel isn't frozen inside the housing; a light tug on the leading bar ...
