Usage Features
- Powering On/Off: To power on the bike, grab the brake handle to engage the brake, and seat yourself on the SUPER73-K1D. Switch the power button on the throttle to turn the bike on. To turn off the bike, switch the power button on the throttle. The K1D will automatically turn off after 5 minutes of inactivity.
- Throttle Operation: The SUPER73-K1D is equipped with three different ride modes. Each ride mode dictates the max speed of the bike:
- 1 chime = Mode 1, up to 7 mph
- 2 chimes = Mode 2, up to 13 mph
- 3 chimes = Track Mode 3, up to 15 mph
To change the ride mode, make sure the bike is off and then twist the throttle until it reaches the end of its rotation. Hold the throttle in the twisted position, then turn the bike on. The bike will emit a chime to indicate the change of ride mode. To cycle through each mode, keep the throttle twisted until you reach your selection as indicated by the number of chimes. Release the throttle and a long chime will sound confirming your mode selection.
- Braking: The left brake lever activates the rear brake. The hydraulic brake system requires proper maintenance to be performed on the pads, rotors, and hydraulic brake line.
- Safety Check: Before each use, a pre-ride safety check should be performed, including checking the condition of both tires, proper tire pressure, wheels, battery, brake system, cables, and kickstand.
- Storage: Park indoors whenever possible. If parking outdoors in rain or wet conditions, dry out the bike systems. Regular maintenance and cleaning are required to prevent rust and corrosion. Avoid parking or storing the bike in direct sunlight or excessive heat. Lock up the bike to reduce theft. When pushing or carrying the bike, turn off the power to avoid accidental acceleration from the motor. Do not leave the battery in direct sunlight or any location that is or may become excessively hot or cold for extended periods.
Maintenance Features
- Regular Maintenance Schedule:
- Before and After Each Ride: Check the alignment of the wheels, brake function, tires for punctures, electric balance bike cleanliness and dryness, kickstand security, loose cables or wires, and all hardware for proper tightening.
- Every Month: Inspect the handlebar and steer tube for unusual movement, check cables, tires, and handlebars, inspect wear of brake rotors and brake pads, and replace if necessary. Check the tension of the spokes, and ensure wheels are true and properly dished. Inspect all hardware to ensure it is properly tightened.
- Every Three Months: Charge the battery and use the bike at least once every 90 days.
- Every Six Months (depending on frequency and type of use): Inspect the frame and fork and look for signs of cracks in the metal. Check and grease the wheel hubs, headset, and all parts subjected to friction. Inspect all hardware to ensure it is properly tightened.
- Washing and Caring: Regularly clean your SUPER73-K1D and protect it against corrosion. Use clear water for cleaning and a gentle soap if necessary to dissolve grease and other residues. Do not spray water directly onto your bike. Instead, use a lightly damp cloth to wipe down any dirt or debris. After drying your bike, treat surfaces with a care product. Finally, wipe all parts with a clean, soft cloth. Do not clean your SUPER73-K1D with a strong water jet or steam jet from a short distance. Do not allow water to spray on or near the battery.
- Tires/Wheels: The inner tube size for the tires is 16"x 2.4". Tires are designed for durability and safety for regular cycling activities. However, tires must be checked before each use for proper inflation and condition. Proper inflation, good maintenance, and quick replacement will help ensure the operational characteristics of your bike will be maintained and dangerous conditions avoided. Tires must be inflated using a pump with a Schrader valve tip with a recommended pressure between 25-35 PSI (1.72-2.41 bar). Check the condition of the tires and rims for damage, cracks or deformation.
- Brakes: The hydraulic brake system requires proper maintenance to be performed on the pads, rotors, and also on the hydraulic brake line. Always verify that your brakes are in good condition in order to maintain safe riding. Regularly check the condition of your cables, ducts, and harness, and the wear of your pads. Some discs are only compatible with "resin" pads. Do not use a metal pad with discs marked "resin".
- Battery Maintenance: Do not store a discharged battery. It could go into deep discharge which will reduce its life or render the battery unrecoverable. Batteries in deep discharge are not covered under warranty. Make it a habit to recharge the battery at the end of each ride, so that your electric balance bike will always be ready to go again. Even if the battery can withstand storage temperatures of 23°F - 104°F (-10°C - 40°C), you can optimize its shelf life by storing it at room temperature 65°-75°F (18° - 23°C). Observe operating conditions between 40°F - 85°F (4°C - 30°C). Do not leave your battery exposed to high temperatures or direct sunlight for long periods of time (for example, in the back of a car in direct sunlight). Please ensure that the contacts are always clean and do not insert metal objects. Do not dispose of the battery in your trash. There are proper disposal methods for lithium batteries. Please check your local waste management regulations.
- Replacing Parts: Use only genuine parts from Super73 for safety-critical components, including the battery, charger, motor, throttle, controller, lighting components, and wiring harnesses. Failure to do so could give rise to a risk of injury, death and/or property damage, and may invalidate the warranty. When replacing components such as tires, inner tubes, and brake pads, use only parts that comply with Super73's recommended specifications in sizing and quality as directed.
- Tampering: Do not, in any way, tamper with the electrical components of the SUPER73-K1D. Tampering includes opening the protective casing of the motor, battery, or charger, or breaking any tamper-evident seals, as well as any other modifications of components or the electrical system. Tampering with the electrical system in any manner will give rise to a risk of injury, death and/or property damage.
