Overview

The Pulsar LT is an inline control module designed to enhance vehicle performance and offer programmable features. It connects to the vehicle's existing wiring and can be updated via a USB connection using a Windows computer.

Function Description:

The Pulsar LT serves as an inline control module that modifies various aspects of a vehicle's performance. It allows users to adjust parameters such as speed limiter, tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) settings, tire size, axle ratio, and disable features like Auto Start/Stop and Dynamic Fuel Management (DFM). Additionally, it offers responsiveness level adjustments, providing different throttle response settings. The device works by intercepting and modifying signals within the vehicle's system, offering a range of performance and convenience enhancements without requiring a full engine reflash. It is designed to be installed under the hood, typically near the air intake, and connects to the factory wiring harness.

Usage Features:

The Pulsar LT offers a user-friendly programming interface that utilizes the vehicle's cruise control switches and speedometer for navigation and input. To access the programming menu, the vehicle must be running, and cruise control must be turned off. The process involves turning the ignition to the RUN position (without starting the engine), adjusting the vehicle's screen cluster to the digital speedometer, and then holding the cancel cruise control button until the speedometer sweeps to 140 MPH. Users can then navigate through seven different programming modes using the +RES or –SET wheel on the cruise control.

The available programming modes include:

  • Speed Limiter Adjustment (Mode 10): Allows adjustment of the speed limiter between 82 and 140 MPH. Users select the desired value using the cruise control wheel and save it by pressing the cancel button.
  • TPMS Adjustment (Mode 20): Enables adjustment of the TPMS inflate number between 1 and 99 PSI. This mode automatically adjusts the minimum and maximum TPMS values and reprograms the vehicle's ECM.
  • Tire Size Correction (Mode 30): Corrects the speedometer for changes in tire size. Users input both the stock and modified tire sizes (whole number and decimal) by adjusting values with the cruise control wheel and saving each part. This adjustment modifies the vehicle's displayed speed to accurately reflect the modified tire size.
  • Axle Ratio Adjustment (Mode 40): Allows for correction of the speedometer when the axle ratio has been modified. Similar to tire size, users input both stock and modified axle ratios (whole number and decimal).
  • Clear DTC's (Mode 50): Provides a function to clear diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) from the vehicle's system.
  • Auto Start/Stop Disable (Mode 60): Enables users to disable the vehicle's automatic start/stop feature. A value of '0' indicates active, and '10' indicates disabled.
  • DFM (Dynamic Fuel Management) Disable (Mode 70): Allows users to disable the DFM system. Disabling DFM will also automatically disable Auto Start/Stop. A value of '0' indicates active, and '10' indicates disabled.

In addition to these programming modes, the Pulsar LT offers Responsiveness Level Adjustment. When the vehicle is running and cruise control is off, the throttle responsiveness can be adjusted. The speedometer indicates the responsiveness level, ranging from Level 0 (Stock) to Level 5 (Increased responsiveness up to 65% over stock). Levels also include reduced responsiveness (up to 15% less than stock) and various stages of increased responsiveness (up to 15%, 30%, and 48% over stock). Users adjust the level using the +RES or -SET controls.

Maintenance Features:

The Pulsar LT includes features for software updates to ensure optimal performance and compatibility.

  • Software Updates: The device can be updated via a USB connection to a Windows computer using the "Update Agent 1.0" software. This software needs to be downloaded from the manufacturer's website (superchips.com, diablosport.com, or edgeproducts.com). The update process requires the Pulsar LT to be installed in the vehicle, with the vehicle's ignition in the RUN position (engine off). A USB to OBDII cable (sold separately) is used to connect the computer to the vehicle's OBDII port. It is recommended to use a battery charger during the update process to maintain vehicle power. The Update Agent automatically detects the device and guides the user through the update steps. It's important to note that the vehicle's Wi-Fi is disabled during updates, requiring an external Wi-Fi source if internet access is needed on the computer. Installing the Holley USBCAN Driver is also necessary for the computer to connect to the device.

For troubleshooting and support, the manual provides a FAQ section addressing common questions, such as adjusting power levels (only when cruise control is off), removing the device before dealer visits, checking current power levels (by pressing Cancel on the steering keypad), and warnings against "stacking" or using other tuners simultaneously to prevent vehicle damage. It also offers guidance on accurately measuring tire size. Technical support contact information is provided for further assistance.
