What to do if my Superior DRC2033 spark igniter will not light pilot?
    • J
      John AndersonAug 15, 2025
If the spark igniter on your Superior Indoor Fireplace won't light the pilot, there are several potential causes. First, check for a spark at the electrode and pilot. If there's no spark and the electrode wire is properly connected, the igniter may be defective and needs replacement. If there is a spark, try lighting the pilot with a match. If it lights, the gas mixture may be off, requiring a longer purge period. If it still doesn't light, check the gap at the electrode and pilot; it should be about 1/8 inch for a strong spark. If the gap is correct, the pilot might need replacing. Also, ensure the gas supply pressure is within the limits specified on the rating plate and that the pilot orifice is clean and not plugged.

Why is my Superior DRC2033 Indoor Fireplace pilot burning but no gas to burner?
    • K
      Kimberly Woods DDSAug 18, 2025
If the pilot light is on in your Superior Indoor Fireplace, but no gas is reaching the burner, and the valve knob and burner switch are both in the 'ON' position, several issues could be the cause. A defective wall switch or faulty wiring could be the problem; check the connections or try using a jumper wire across the terminals at the wall switch. Also, the thermopile may not be generating enough millivolts; it should read a minimum of 325 millivolts with the optional wall switch OFF. If it reads lower, the thermopile may need replacing. Additionally, a plugged burner orifice could be blocking the gas flow; inspect and clear any blockages. Finally, make sure that only one of the switches is in the ON position.

What to do if Superior DRC2033 Indoor Fireplace pilot will not stay lit?
    • J
      Jonathan FletcherAug 22, 2025
If the pilot light on your Superior Indoor Fireplace won't stay lit after following the lighting instructions, the pilot flame might not be properly impinging on the thermocouple. Ensure the pilot flame makes good contact with the thermocouple. You may need to clean and/or adjust the pilot for maximum flame impingement. Also, check that the connection between the valve and thermocouple is tight and secure.

What causes frequent pilot/burner outage problem in Superior DRC2033 Indoor Fireplace?
    • T
      Thomas MyersAug 26, 2025
Frequent pilot/burner outages in your Superior Indoor Fireplace can be caused by a pilot flame that is too low or too high. Clean and/or adjust the pilot flame to ensure maximum flame impingement on the thermocouple. This will help prevent the pilot/valve safety from dropping out.

    • D
      Donna NelsonAug 28, 2025
If the main burner on your Superior Indoor Fireplace doesn't light even though the igniter is sparking, first check the gas supply and shutoff valves to ensure gas is reaching the fireplace. Inspect the control compartment for any loose wiring to the valve or ignition module, if necessary, call a service technician. If there is air in the gas line, purge the gas line of air, if required, call a service technician. Also, check and replace the unit battery backup.
