Why does my Superior DRT3035 Indoor Fireplace pilot/burner frequently go out?
    • R
      Robert AllisonSep 1, 2025
Frequent pilot/burner outages in your Superior Indoor Fireplace can occur if the pilot flame is too low or blowing, causing the pilot/valve safety to drop out. To resolve this, clean and/or adjust the pilot flame to ensure maximum flame impingement on the thermocouple.

    • N
      npattersonSep 4, 2025
If the pilot light won't stay lit on your Superior Indoor Fireplace, it could be due to a defective pilot generator (thermocouple). Check that the pilot flame is impinging on the thermocouple. Why is there soot on the logs and glass of my Superior Indoor Fireplace?
    • N
      Nancy OnealSep 7, 2025
Soot on the logs and glass of your Superior Indoor Fireplace can be caused by several factors: * Excessive flame impingement on the logs. Ensure the logs are properly positioned. * Initial fireplace operation. A white film may develop during the first few uses. Clean the glass after each use (after it has completely cooled). * Improper vent restrictor setting. Adjust the air shutter adjustment lever according to the instructions in this manual to open the air shutter. * Improper air shutter opening. Open the air shutter by pushing in the rod.

Why won't the spark igniter light the pilot on my Superior DRT3035?
    • C
      Corey NguyenNov 14, 2025
The spark igniter might fail to light the pilot on your Superior Indoor Fireplace due to several reasons: a defective igniter (no spark at electrode), a defective or misaligned electrode, errant gas supply pressure, or a plugged pilot orifice. * Check for a spark at the electrode and pilot. If there's no spark and the electrode wire is properly connected, replace the igniter. * If there is spark, try lighting the pilot with a match. If it lights, the gas mixture may be improper, requiring a longer purge period. If it still won't light, check the gap at the electrode and pilot; it should be 1/8 inch. If the gap is correct, replace the pilot. * Verify that the inlet gas pressure is within the limits marked on the rating plate. * Clean or replace the pilot orifice to ensure it's not ...

What to do if pilot light is on but no gas to burner in my Superior DRT3035?
    • J
      jdixonNov 18, 2025
If the pilot light is burning, the valve knob is in the 'ON' position, and the burner switch is also 'ON,' but no gas is reaching the burner of your Superior Indoor Fireplace, here's what you can check: 1. Inspect the wall switch and wiring for proper connections. You can use a jumper wire across the terminals at the wall switch; if the burner then comes on, the wall switch is defective and needs replacement. If the switch is okay, proceed to the next step. Use jumper wires across the wall switch wires at the valve; if the burner comes on, the wires are faulty or the connections are bad. 2. Test the thermopile with a millivolt meter at the thermopile terminals of the gas valve. It should read a minimum of 325 millivolts with the optional wall switch in the OFF position. If the reading ...
