TCG Storage Security Password Description (Unavailable under a security freeze
lock caused by a boot failure)
This feature allows the user to set, modify, and clear the administrative password and
the user password for TCG Storage Security settings. The manufacturer administrative
password that was pre-installed in the factory is used to enable TCG storage security
feature support in this system and is also used to create new user name passwords. You
can reset the administrative password. An administrative password is required to lock or
unlock the TCG storage security settings, while a user password might be used as an option
to unlock a TCG device during Power-On Self-Test (POST) at bootup.
Note: The options of "Setting Administrative Password" and "Setting User Password"
may become unavailable under a security freeze lock caused by a boot failure. To
unlock the security freeze, please perform a cold boot by power off/power on the sys-
tem, press the delete key, and enter the BIOS setup utility at bootup to unfreeze the
security lock.
