NOTE: Always apply air pressure
to the
inside of the air cleaner ele-
ment only. If you apply air pres-
sure to the outside, dirt wil be
forced into the pores of the ele-
ment, restricting the air flow
through the element.
Air Cleaner Drain Plug
CAUTION
A torn air cleaner element wil
allow dirt to enter the engine
and can damage the engine.
Carefully examine the air
cleaner element for tears dur-
ing cleaning. Replace it With a
new one if it is torn.
Remove the plug and drain water
and oil at the periodic ma.inte-
nance intervaL. The air cleaner
drain plug is located beneath the
air cleaner box.
5. Reinstall the air cleaner ele-
ment in reverse order of
removaL. . Be sure that the air
cleaner element is securely in
position and is properly
sealed.
CAUTION
Failure to position the air
cleaner element properly can
allow dirt to bypass the air
cleaner element. This wil
cause engine damage.
Be sure to properly install the
air cleaner element.
