Brake fluid pressure-increasing mode
If the accelerating wheel speed exceeds the set value, the ABS increases the pressure. At this time, the
ABS control unit outputs the signal to stop the solenoid valve coils from being energized, opening the inlet
valve and closing the outlet valve, and sending the pressurized brake fluid from the master cylinder to the
brake caliper. In addition, during a step wise brake fluid pressure increase, the mode switches between the
pressure-maintaining and pressure-increasing modes.
WHEN NOT OPERATING THE ABS (WHEN THE ABS IS NOT ACTIVATED OR AN ABS MALFUNCTION
HAS OCCURRED)
Brake fluid pressure-decreasing mode
For releasing the brakes when ABS is not activated, since no signals are output from ABS control unit, this
opens the inlet solenoid valve (normal position) and closes the outlet solenoid valve (normal position). Then,
fluid within the brake caliper will return to master cylinder passing through one-way valve which is opened by
the inlet solenoid valve and fluid pressure.
