DTC “23” (C1623): ABS actuator circuit malfunction (R)
Step 1
1) Support the motorcycle with its center stand.
2) Inspect the dragging of the rear brake.
Is there any dragging in the rear brake?
Step 2
1) Inspect the clearance between the rear wheel speed sensor
and sensor rotor using the thickness gauge.
% Wheel speed sensor – sensor rotor clearance:
0.3 – 1.5 mm (0.012 – 0.059 in)

Is the clearance OK?
Step 3
1) Check that the rear wheel speed sensor is mounted steadily.
Is the sensor mounted steadily?
POSSIBLE CAUSE
Wire harness discontinuity
Rear wheel locking, etc.
YES
Inspect the rear brake master cylinder and the
caliper.
NO Go to step 2.
YES Go to step 3.
NO Adjust the clearance.
YES Replace the ABS control unit/HU.
NO
Tighten the mounting bolts or replace the bracket
if necessary.
