Operation (continued)
Starting
Starting the Generator (Pull Start)
1. Disconnect all tools and appliances from the generator.
2. Make sure main AC circuit breaker is in the “OFF” position.
3. Make sure fuel valve is in the on position to allow fuel to the engine’s carburetor.
4. Move the choke to the “START” position to close the choke.
5. Turn the ON/OFF switch to the “ON” position
6. Pull the pull start handle lightly until resistance is felt and then return to original position. Then firmly
hold pull start handle and briskly pull to start the engine. Repeat if necessary.
7. Return the pull start handle gently to its original position being careful in not allowing it to snap back
against the engine.
8. Allow engine to warm for 15 to 30 seconds, and then slowly move choke to “Run” position to open the
choke.
Starting the Generator (Electric Start)
1. Disconnect all tools and appliances from the generator.
2. Make sure main AC circuit breaker is in the “OFF” position.
3. Make sure fuel cock is in the on position to allow fuel to the engines carburetor.
4. Move the choke to the “START” position to close the choke.
5. Turn the ignition switch past the “RUN” position to the “START” position. Once the engine has started,
return the ignition to the “RUN” position. Allow the starter to crank for only 5 seconds at a time. If
the engine fails to start, wait 10 seconds before operating the starter again.
6. Allow engine to warm for 15 to 30 seconds, and then slowly move choke to “Run” position to open the
choke.
1. Start generator according to starting instructions.
2. Set Voltage Selector Switch to the desired voltage setting. (Refer to Feature and Controls Section)
3. Move the Main Circuit Breaker to the “ON” position to allow power to the control panel receptacles.
4. Plug appliances or tools into the appropriate outlet. Refer to chart for current rating of receptacles.
Do not exceed the current rating of the receptacles.
5. Be sure that the rated power of the generator is not exceeded by the total wattage requirements of the
appliances.
