Why won't my Sym Scooter start?
    • J
      Jonathan WatkinsJul 28, 2025
Several factors could prevent your Sym Scooter from starting. First, ensure the ignition switch is in the 'ON' position. Check the fuel level; the scooter may not start if the fuel tank is empty. Make sure you are applying the rear or front wheel brakes while pressing the start button. Also, verify the engine stop switch is in the correct position. If the horn doesn't sound when the ignition is 'ON', the fuse might be blown, requiring you to remove the front body cover to check the fuse box. If the wire is visibly melted, it needs replacement.

What to do if my Sym Joymax Z+ Scooter engine is overheating?
    • A
      Adrian GayAug 13, 2025
If your Sym Scooter's engine is overheating, safely pull over to the side of the road and turn off the ignition switch to stop the engine, then turn the ignition switch on. Check if the radiator fan is working. If the fan is operating, allow the engine to cool down, then inspect the cooling system hose for leaks. If there is a leak or the fan is not working, do not start the engine and transport your scooter to an authorized SYM dealer.
