What to do if my T.I.P. Water Pump motor is running, but no liquid is being discharged?

  First, ensure the pump housing is filled with liquid. If it is, check the intake line for air leaks, ensuring all connections are tight. Verify the inlet opening and check valve are fully submerged in the liquid. Also, confirm the check valve is not jammed and that there are no siphons, kinks, or narrow spots in the intake lines. Finally, make sure the suction and discharge heights are within the pump's maximum limits.

  The pump may be stopping due to several reasons. Check that the electrical supply matches the type plate information using a device complying with GS. Also, the pump or intake line might be blocked by solids, so remove any obstructions. The liquid might be too viscous, consider thinning it if possible, or the pump may not be suitable for that liquid. Lastly, ensure that the liquid and environmental temperatures are within acceptable limits.

  First, check for current using a GS-compliant device and verify the plug is correctly positioned. If there is no issue with current, the thermal motor protection may have triggered; disconnect the pump, let it cool, and identify/resolve the cause. If these steps don't solve the problem, the capacitor may be defective, or the motor shaft may be jammed; in the latter case, check and eliminate the cause of the jamming.
