"Standard Drawbar "Wide Angle Shaft Version"
1 - 3 P.T.O. shaft "tractor - machine"
IMPORTANT: The P.T.O. shaft's wide angle joint R must be placed at the tractor end.
Adjust the tractor's and machine's drawbar according to the schedule on photo 1. Choose an
adjustment where the P.T.O. shaft is as long as possible (by extending the tractor's drawbar).
Before shortening or fitting the P.T.O. shaft check the length in the following way:
Drive forward with both tractor and machine with correctly adjusted drawbar. Turn sharp to the
right until the maximum turning angle is achieved,- fit the two "loose" half parts of the P.T.O. shaft
on both tractor and machine, - hold the half parts of the shaft together and check the shortening
length.
Drive forward with the tractor, - hold the shafts together again and ensure that the P.T.O. tubes
would have an overlap of at least 120 mm after shortening.
Shortening of the P.T.O. shaft:
When shortening the shaft cut the same length off all 4 parts a - b - c - d. Be very careful when
shortening, - the inner profile tube of the shaft is coated with RILSAN and must not be damaged.
Do not use an angle grinder to cut the shaft.
The shaft ends should be cleaned off with a file and finished with an emery clotch. This is especially
important for the outer tube. Otherwise the coating of RILSAN may be "scraped off". Remove all
metal filings and lubricate the profile tubes with Molybdenum grease or equivalent.
The following warning must always be observed:
Be careful when turning sharp to the right. With some tractor types the P.T.O. shaft
can "bottom" and thereby damage the shaft and/or other parts of the machine or
tractor.
Maximum turning angle for the wide angle P.T.O. shaft is 80
o
. Otherwise the wide angle joint and/
or the tractor's P.T.O. shaft will be damaged.

- 5 Hydraulic connection
Connect the hydraulic hoses from the drawbar cylinder to a set of double-acting oil connections
and connect the hose from the lifting cylinders to a single-acting oil connection. Ensure that the
single-acting oil connection can be used for a remote cylinder and can be secured in the raised
position, - see the tractor manual.
The right hydraulic cylinder must be bled before starting up a new machine, - see page 29 below.
Also note existing safety regulations.
