Operation - adjustment
1 Cutting height - spring suspension
The cutting height is adjusted by changing the cutting angle of the cutterbar A. Adjustment is
from 4
o
to 8
o
inclination angle which corresponds to a stubble height of 25 mm to 40 mm (variable
without pre-set steps).
The pivot point of the cutterbar is shown at B. Change of the cutterbar angle is carried out by
means of a screw adjusted wedge C. Note: The wedge only limits the cutterbar's movement
downwards, - if the bar meets an obstacle it will raise to the horizontal position while passing over
the obstacle.
The machine's cutterbar and conditioning unit are suspended by two springs D and kept in position
by connecting arms E and M. The springs have a bottom stop which is activated when lifting
the machine.
2
- 3 Cutting height:
• The machine must be placed on even ground. It must be coupled to the tractor correctly. The
drawbar must be set in the working position.
• Adjust the cutting height with the screw adjuster wedge F. Choose for example medium
stubble height = 30 mm, - this corresponds to an adjuster screw measurement of 150 mm as
shown.
If a reduced stubble height is required, an adjustable connecting rod can be fitted at the lower right
side of the machine, optional equipment - see page 43.
Use the highest cutting height when operating in fields with many stones and/or fit
the high cut skids below the cutterbar (optional equipment, - see page 43).
4 - 5 Spring suspension:
• Tighten the left and right balancing spring G. Check the spring adjustment by lifting the
machine as shown at L on both left and right sides. Tighten the springs until the force required
to lift is 30 - 40 kg on both sides.
Note: Normally the springs are not be tightened equally (as they are each of different
specification).
• Drive into the field, - check that the cutterbar's pressure against the ground is as low
as possible. If the stubble is uneven/wavy the sprngs are tightened too much.
Always lock the spindles of the springs with their locking plates H to prevent
movement so that the adjustment dont change. When changing cutting height it will
also be necessary to re-adjust the balancing springs.
