Do not install a new cutting chain on a worn-out sprocket. Replace the sprocket no later than
after replacing a worn-out chain for the second time (See chapter: POWER MATE Sprocket).

7.4. TENSIONING A CUTTING CHAIN
• Loosen both nuts on the fixing plate;
• Tighten the tensioning screw until the chain is properly tensioned;*
• Retighten both nuts on the fixing plate.
*The cutting chain is properly tensioned when it clings to the bottom side of the saw bar when cold
and can still be lifted on the upper side of the saw bar (somewhere in the middle) for approximately
three fourths of the gear teeth height.
Always wear gloves when checking the chain tension to prevent cutting your ngers on the
sharp chain!

7.6. POWER MATE SPROCKET
Use only OREGON Power mate 3/8” sprockets (OREGON No. 22273). The sprocket has a wear indicator
(X). When the bottom point of the indicator is reached, discard the sprocket.
