FLUIDS
-CLEANING-
To
prevent
the
loss
of
high-frequency
response,
insufficient
erase
or
tape
squeal,
the
heads
should
be
cleaned
frequently.
Under
average
operating
conditions,
clean
the
heads
after
each
8
to
10
hours
used,
using
TEAC
cleaner
TZ-261A
or
moisten
clean
cloth
with
alcohol.
Carefully
wipe
the
face
of
each
head
and
the
tape
guidance
components
to
remove
all
traces
of
dirt
and
magnetic
oxide
deposits.
TZ-261B
for
Rubber
cleaning
must
be
used
on
the
pinch
roller,
capstan
belt,
counter
belt....
etc.
-LUBRICATION-
Most
of
the
rotating
parts
of
the
tape
transport
are
per¬
manently
lubricated.
There
are,
however,
eight
points
which
require
periodic
lubrication.
They
are
the
three
motor,
the
capstan
shaft
and
the
pinch
roller
shaft
using
TEAC
TZ-255
oil
is
recommended.
NOTE:
If
the
motor
pulley,
capstan
belt,
flywheel
and
pinch
roller
become
soiled
with
oil
or
grease,
slippage
will
occur.
Remove
all
traces
of
grease
or
oil
with
TZ-261A/B.
