CLEANING
If
excess
oxide
accumulates
on
the
surface
of
tape
path
components,
normal
operation
and
characteristics
cannot
be
expected.
Periodic
cleaning
should
be
done
with
proper
cleaning
materials.
Refer
to
Operating
Instructions.
DEMAGNETIZATION
Metal
parts
in
contact
with
the
tape
will
become
magnetized
after
long
periods
of
use(except
erase
head).
Magnetization
of
record/
playback
heads
causes
noise
in
recording
and
reproduction
and
heads
should
be
demagnetized
at
every
50
hours
of use,
and
before
any
im-
portant
recording
is
done.
