@ REC MODE Switches (L and R)
These switches allow selection of the chan-
nels to be recorded. When one switch is set
to ON ( =), the corresponding channel can
be recorded. For stereo recording, both
switches must be ON. For monophonic
recording either switch can be ON. If one,
or both REC MODE switches are ON, the
REC lamp will flash on and off to indicate
that recording is possible. When playing
back a tape, set both REC MODE switches
to OFF ( 21). This will prevent accidental
recording as, if the TIMER switch is pressed
in by mistake, the deck will automatically
start recording when power is applied.
This is the best way to protect your pre-
recorded tapes from accidental erasure,
@® MONITOR Switches (L and R)
There are two positions; SOURCE and
TAPE for Left and Right channels. These
switches simply select either the signal
on the tape (TAPE) or the signal present
at the LINE or MIC inputs (SOURCE).
The selected signal is fed to the outputs
(OUTPUT terminals and PHONES jack)
via the OUTPUT control. When the MONI-
TOR switch is in the SOURCE position, the
display on the VU meters is not affected
by the position of the OUTPUT control.
However, when the MONITOR switch is in
the TAPE position, the level displayed on
the meters is controlled by the setting of the
OUTPUT control. If the OUTPUT control is
set to the CAL (calibration) position, there
should be little or no difference in volume
and sound quality apparent on switching
between TAPE and SOURCE.
@ REMOTE Control
Connect the optional RC-204 to this socket
for remote control of your deck from up to
15 feet away.
Note:
Pressing the 4 (reverse play) key of the
RC-204 has no effect; this key functions
when the RC-204 is used with the X-
2000R deck.
® Commutateurs de mode d’enre-
gistrement (REC MODE) (gauche/
droit)
Ces commutateurs permettent de choisir les
canaux a enregistrer. Lorsqu‘un des com-
mutateurs est sur ON ( =); un canal peut
&tre enregistré. Pour un enregistrement stéréo,
les deux commutateurs doivent étre sur ON;
pour un enregistrement en monophonie,
n‘importe quel commutateur peut étre placé
sur ON. Si un ou deux commutateurs de
mode d’enregistrement sont placés sur ON,
la lampe d’enregistrement s’allumera et
s‘éteindra pour indiquer que |'enregistre-
ment peut avoir lieu. Lors de la reproduc-
tion d’une bande, mettre les deux commuta-
teurs de mode d’enregistrement sur OFF
(1). Ceci évitera un enregistrement
accidentel car, si le commutateur TIMER
est enfoncé par erreur, la platine com-
mencera a enregistrer automatiquement
quand |‘alimentation est fournie,
® Commutateurs MONITOR (L et R)
Il y a deux positions: SOURCE et TAPE
pour canaux de droite et de gauche. Les
commutateurs sélectionnent simplement
soit le signal enregistré sur la bande ou
soit le signal présent aux entrées LINE ou
MIC (SOURCE), Le signal choisi est alimenté
vers les sorties (bornes OUTPUT et prise
PHONES) via la commande OUTPUT. Lors-
que le commutateur MONITOR est placé
sur la position SOURCE, l’affichage sur les
VU-métres n’est pas affecté par la position
de la commande OUTPUT.
Cependant, lorsque le commutateur MONI-
TOR est placé sur TAPE, le niveau affiché
sur les VU-métres est contrdlé par le réglage
de la commande OUTPUT. Si la commande
OUTPUT est placée sur la position CAL
(étalonnage), il devra y avoir une petite dif-
férence ou pas du tout en volume et en
qualité sonore en actionnant le commuta-
teur de TAPE a SOURCE.
@ Prise de télécommande (REMOTE)
Raccordez le boitier de télécommande
facultatif RC-204 a cette prise afin de télé-
commander votre platine 4 une distance
allant jusqu’a 4,5 m.
Remarque:
Enfoncer la touche < (lecture inversée) du
RC-204 n'a aucun effet; cette touche fonc-
tionne quand le RC-204 est utilisé avec la
X-2000R.
