Preparing the Radio for Use
Use the supplied mains adapter to connect the
radio to the mains (230 V ~ / 50 Hz).
> To power on the radio, first connect the
mains adapter cable to the 5V DC jack
(page 5 #15) on the radio and then plug the
adapter into a 230 V ~ / 50 Hz wall socket.
> When you connect the radio for the first
time, "Welcome to Digital Radio" will
be displayed briefly.
Unplug the adapter from the wall socket when
you are not using the radio, going away for a long
time and during thunderstorms.
Improving Aerial Reception
The number and quality of broadcast stations
depends on the reception conditions at the
location of the radio. Excellent reception can be
achieved with the telescopic aerial. The aerial
must be extended to full length and positioned
for best reception.
