IlL Engine With Choke and Primer Bulb
In Temperatures above 40° F (-5° C):
Follow instructionsin Section A.I (Engine with Primer Bulb
and Without Choke).
In Temperatures below 40°F (-5° C):
1. To avoidcarbon monoxide poisoning,make sure engine
is outdoorsin a well-ventilatedarea.
2. Move engine throttle controlto "CHOKE" or "START"
ifpresent (see equipment manufacturer'sinstructions).
See Figures 7, 8 or 9.

When startinga cold engine, push primer bulb firmly
withyour thumb 3 times, allowingprimer bulb to
return completelyto originalpositionbetween pushes.
See Rguro 6.
NOTES
Cooler temperatures may require pushing primer bulb firmly
with your thumb 5 times.
DO NOT use choke orprimer to restarta warm engine after a
short shut-down. Doing so will flood the engine and may result
in equipment malfunction.

Operate equipment control to release engine brake or
clutch if present (see equipment manufacturer's
instructions).See Figure 4.
Push starter button or turn ignitionswitch key to
start engine.
When engine starts:
a. Release starter button or ignition switch key.
b. Move engine throttle control to "FAST" position. See

b. Next, move engine throttle control to desired speed
in "RUN" range.
