DECORATIVE AND PRACTICAL STITCHES
Set the machine as illustrated.
Turn the stitch length dial to suit the fabric.
Shell hem ( Fig. A) For decorative edges.
Suitable for edges on sheer, ne and stretch fabrics. The larger stitch should go just
over the edge of the fabric to create the shell eect.
Rampart (Fig. B) For at joining seams, sewing on elastic, visible hems.
This stitch can be used for rm, thicker fabrics.
Bridging (Fig. C) For seams, place mats, tablecloths.
Decorative joining seam for a fagoted eect. Gathering with cord or shirring elastic.
