It allows users to connect multiple HDMI sources (such as game consoles, streaming boxes, and PCs) to multiple HDMI display devices (like projectors and monitors), offering flexible switching and distribution capabilities.

Function Description:

The primary function of the HDMI Matrix is to route any of its four HDMI input sources to any of its four HDMI output displays. This means you can choose which input device is shown on a specific output display, or even display a single input device on multiple output devices simultaneously. This eliminates the need for constantly unplugging and re-plugging cables or manually switching devices, significantly simplifying device management and enhancing user convenience.

The matrix supports resolutions up to 3840x2160 at 30Hz, ensuring high-quality video output for compatible displays. It is HDCP1.4 compliant, which is essential for handling copyrighted content from various sources. For audio, the device supports multiple formats including PCM, Dolby AC3, DTS5.1, and DSD, providing a comprehensive audio experience.

A key feature of this matrix is its ability to memorize the routing status even after a power down. This means that upon the next power-on, the device will automatically restore its previous matrix status, saving users the effort of reconfiguring their connections.

1. Front Panel Button Switching: The front panel of the matrix features digital displays for each output port, showing the currently selected input port number. Adjacent to each digital display is an input selection button. To switch an input for a specific output, users can select the desired output channel and then repeatedly press its corresponding input selection button. Each press cycles through the available input ports (1 to 4) until the desired input is displayed for that output.

2. IR Remote Control: The device comes with an IR remote control, which by default is not equipped with batteries due to safety regulations during shipping. Users need to install a CR2025 cell battery before use. The remote control provides several switching options:

   • 1 to 1 Switch: To switch a single output, first press any key in the "Output" section (labeled 1-4 or A-H) to select the desired output port. Then, press any key in the "Input" section (labeled 1-4 or 5-8) to select the source to be displayed on that chosen output.
   • 1 to All Switch: To display a single input on all output ports, press the "ALL" key in the "Output" section. Subsequently, press any key in the "Input" section to select the source that will be displayed on all outputs.
   • Mirrored Connection: Pressing the "NTN" key on the remote control will change the routing status to a mirrored connection, specifically mapping Input 1 to Output A, Input 2 to Output B, Input 3 to Output C, and Input 4 to Output D.
   • Preset Routing for Scenes: The matrix supports 4 configurable user preset connections. Users can save a current routing status by pressing the "Save" key followed by a number key (1-4) in the "Scene" section. To load a previously saved routing status, press the "Load" key followed by the corresponding number key (1-4) in the "Scene" section.

3. RS232 Control: For more advanced control and integration into professional setups, the HDMI Matrix can be controlled via an RS232 port.

   • Connection: Users need to connect their PC to the HDMI Matrix's RS232 port using an RS232 cable.
   • Software Control: TESmart provides a dedicated "4X4 HDMI Matrix Controller" software for Windows OS, which can be downloaded from their official website (www.tesmart.com). This software allows for comprehensive control over the matrix.
   • Serial Communication: Within the software, users select the 'General' page, click 'Serial control', choose the correct serial communication port number connected to the HDMI Matrix, and then click 'Connect'.
   • Matrix Control Page: Once connected, users can navigate to the "Matrix Control" page within the software to manage input and output switching. This page provides a visual interface to match input and output devices according to specific needs.
   • Communication Protocol: For users who wish to develop their own dedicated controllers for different platforms, TESmart provides a communication protocol. This protocol specifies the Baud rate (9600 bps), Stop bit (1 bit), and Data length (8 bits). It includes commands for mirrored output, routing a single input to all outputs, connecting a specific input to a specific output, and requesting the current connection status.

Maintenance Features:

The device is designed for straightforward maintenance and care:

• Cleaning: It should be cleaned with a dry cloth.
• Environmental Protection: Keep the product away from water and ignition sources (such as heat sinks, heat accumulators, stovepipes, and other heat-producing settings, including audio amplifiers).
• Ventilation: Ensure that the product's vents are not blocked to prevent overheating.
• Handling: Avoid touching the product and its power cord with wet hands to reduce the risk of electric shock and damage. Do not let the product get wet or damp.
• Power Disconnection: Unplug the power supply during thunderstorms or when the device will not be used for an extended period.
• Battery Disposal: The lithium battery (CR2025 cell) used in the remote control must be disposed of in accordance with local regulations. Improper disposal can cause an explosion. Keep batteries away from children and do not expose them to open fire or overheating environments.
