(c)Paintweargreaterthan10squareinches,takethepropellertoanFAAapprovedpropeller
repairstationorinternationalequivalentfacilityforinspectionandpaintrepair.Referto
ExteriorSurfaceforpaintinstructions.
(3)Nicks/GougesinPropellerSurface.
NOTE:AGougeisasmallsurfaceareawherematerialhasbeenremovedbycontactwith
asharpobject.Nicksaregenerallyconsidereddamagethatistheresultofasingle

lessthan0.020inch(0.50mm)deep)onthepropellerbladeandislessthan0.250inch
(6.35mm)indiameter.Thistypeofdamagecanberepairedusingacosmeticeldrepair
techniqueandbepermanentlyrepairedatpropelleroverhaulusingascarftyperepair.
(b)Agougeornickinthepropellersurfacethatcontactstheunderlyingberglassfabric
(damagegreaterthan0.005inch(0.13mm)deepbutlessthan0.020inch(0.50mm)
deep),andgreaterthan0.250inch(6.35mm)indiameter.Propellershallbeinspected
byanFAAapprovedpropellerrepairstationorinternationalequivalentfacilitytoconrm
theconditionofthepropellerandrepairrequirements.Thistypeofdamagewillresultina
scarftyperepairofthedamagedarea.
