Overview

The Phoenix DryMAX BLE LGR Dehumidifier is a high-efficiency, large-category dehumidifier designed for professional drying jobs, featuring integrated Bluetooth functionality for data streaming and remote control. It is engineered and assembled in Madison, Wisconsin, by Therma-Stor LLC.

Function Description:

The DryMAX BLE removes moisture from the air using a refrigeration system similar to an air conditioner. It draws in humid air, cools it to condense moisture, and then reheats and discharges the drier air. This process helps decrease drying times in enclosed spaces. The unit is equipped with an internal condensate pump to automatically remove collected water, capable of pumping up to 23 feet. Bluetooth connectivity allows users to stream psychrometric data to the FREE DryLINK app or other compatible drying job apps, enabling remote monitoring and control. The unit also features an advanced graphical control panel with a status light indicator for easy monitoring of its operating mode.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Part Numbers: 4038500 (RED), 4038550 (BLUE), 617B (Green)
  • Power: 5.7 amps, 110-120 VAC, Grounded. Plugs into a common grounded 15 amp circuit. Requires a minimum of 14 gauge conductors for extension cords 25 feet or less, and 12 gauge conductors for cords greater than 25 feet.
  • Water Removal: 80 pints/day @ AHAM (80°F, 60% RH).
  • Blower: 170 CFM without external ducting.
  • Refrigerant Charge: 1 lb, 3 oz. R-410A.
  • Operating Range: 33°F to 110°F.
  • Filters: 9" x 12" x 1" Pleated Media MERV-10.
  • Duct Options: Outlet - 10" Lay-Flat. A wire duct collar is supplied for attaching lay-flat ducting.
  • Cord Length: 25 ft.
  • Dimensions (Unit): Width 12", Height 17.5", Depth 21".
  • Weight (Unit): 63 lbs.
  • Housing: Rugged roto-molded plastic housing.
  • Certifications: Conforms to unified standard UL 60335-2-40 and CSA standard C22.2.60335-2-40.

Usage Features:

  • Built-in Bluetooth: Enables streaming of psychrometric data to the DryLINK app for remote monitoring and control.
  • LGR Capacity: Designed for deep drying, capable of removing moisture even in dry conditions.
  • Energy Efficiency: Removes 80 pints at AHAM while drawing only 5.7 amps.
  • Smallest Footprint: A compact design for a large-category dehumidifier.
  • Maneuverability: Features a slide-out handle with recessed wheels for easy transport and compact storage.
  • Integrated Cord and Hose Management: Provides convenient storage for the power cord and condensate hose during transportation.
  • Control Panel: An easy-to-read, industry graphical control panel displays all necessary information on the homescreen.
    • Status Light Indicator: A new status bar at the top of the control panel provides instant feedback on the dehumidifier's operating mode from across the room.
    • Dashboard: Displays Inlet/Outlet Temperature and RH/Grains, Job/Life hours, and Grain/Gram Depression.
    • Humidistat Mode: Allows users to set a target RH% (20% to 80%) and control fan mode (Always On or Auto).
    • Power Button: Initiates a "Powering Up" sequence and a "Powering Down" sequence (with a default 3-minute plus 20-second purge) to ensure water is removed from the unit before shutdown.
    • PURGE Button: Manually removes condensate from the reservoir. The pump automatically cycles when the reservoir is full.
    • Defrost Cycle: Automatically activates when low side refrigerant temperature drops, cycling the compressor off and on to melt ice from the evaporator coil.
    • RH Calibration: Allows users to calibrate the unit's RH reading to match their preferred meter.
    • Temperature and Water Units: Users can toggle between Fahrenheit/Celsius and RH/grains/g/Kg.
  • Outlet Ducting: 10" lay-flat exhaust for directing process air.
  • Lighted Cord: Easily indicates power to the unit.
  • Stacking: Designed for superior stacking during transportation and storage.
  • Safety: Designed for indoor use only. Requires a Ground Fault Interrupter (GFI) in wet areas. Must always be used in a horizontal position.

Maintenance Features:

  • Air Filter: Equipped with a MERV-10 pleated media air filter. Regular checking and cleaning (vacuuming) are recommended. Filters should be replaced when necessary. Operating without a filter or with a less effective filter can clog coils and reduce efficiency.
  • Easy Service Access: Only four fasteners need to be removed for easy access to service the unit.
  • Storage and Freeze Protection:
    • Water Removal: Before storage, use the PURGE button to reduce water level in the reservoir and stretch the hose flat to drain completely.
    • Biological Growth Prevention: Flush the unit with a bio-fungicide approved for copper, aluminum, and polyethylene.
    • Freeze Protection: If exposed to freezing temperatures, after purging, pour 1 cup (8oz) of propylene glycol-based anti-freeze through the heat exchanger. Do NOT purge this solution out.
    • Filter Change: Dirty filters should be changed before long-term storage to prevent biological growth.
  • Component Replacement: Instructions are provided for replacing the air mover, thermistor probe, condensate pump, and float switch.
  • Running Diagnostics: A "Diagnostic Mode" is available for troubleshooting, accessible by pressing the Next button for 3 seconds. This mode allows for testing of the pump, fan, compressor, display, and refrigeration system.
