  If your Thermal Care Temperature Controller isn't heating properly, there are several potential causes. First, the cooling valve might be stuck open; try flushing it by adjusting the set point up and down to open and close the valve. If that doesn't work, turn off the unit and power, shut off the cooling source, and disassemble the valve for cleaning or replacement. There may be a leaking connection, or the manual pressure relief valve may be open; check for leaks and replace any faulty valves. An inoperative immersion heater could also be the problem; have a qualified electrician inspect the heater and/or heater contactor and replace any defective components. The microprocessor controller or the RTD may have failed, requiring replacement.

The cooling valve itself may be inoperative; check for flow changes as the valve opens and closes, and replace it if necessary. If your model has a heat exchanger option, it might be plugged, requiring cleaning or replacement. Finally, high backpressure in the cooling water system could be the issue; try to reduce it.

  If your Thermal Care Temperature Controller is rapidly cycling from heat to cool, it could be due to several reasons. Poor water flow could be the cause; inspect the connectors and increase their size if needed. If there are many or long hoses, shorten them and use larger hoses to minimize pressure drop. If quick disconnects with check valves are used, remove the check valves. Another cause may be a poor connection or failure of the RTD; check the connection and replace the RTD if necessary. In some cases, the microprocessor may have failed, requiring replacement of the controller.
