OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

RS-INTERFACE
This test is used to check the o~eration of the serial connection. Test checks transmitheceive and
handshake lines.
A) Insert test connector (pins 2&3 and
6&20 short-circuited) to RS-connector.
B)
Select
"1
RS-INTERFACE and press
"ENTER-key.
Instrument should display "DATA OK and "DTRfDSR OK when test connector is inserted and
"DATA ERROR and "DTRfDSR ERROR" when test connector is unplugged.
NOTICE!
In order to check the handshake signals, handshake has to
be
set
ON
with switch
4
of the serial RS-232 switch bank in the rear of the instrument.
C) Repeat steps a)-b) using all selectable
Baud rates.
Test is terminated automatically.
