Design and Function
The described pump is a diaphragm pump with an electromagnetic linear drive.
The drive consists of two opposing fixed electromagnets and an axially movable
armature on which four permanent magnets are mounted. An alternating magnetic
field is generated when an AC voltage is applied to the two electromagnets connected
in parallel. The armature is attracted and repelled by the magnetic field resulting in a
linear oscillating motion with high efficiency and without frictional loss. A diaphragm is
fixed on both ends of the armature, which with a chamber block and valves, forms an
air pump.
In case of a diaphragm rupture an integrated protective switch turns off the pump.
(Does not apply to LP-30A and LP-40A)
In case of fault a thermal protective switch in the electromagnet coils protects against
overheating (see fault finding chapter).
An integrated diaphragm protective switch is included in the following models:
LP-60HN, LP-60EN, LP-80E, LP-80HN, LP-100H, LP-120H, LP-150HN, LP-200HN,
LW-200, LW-240, LW-300, LW-350, LW-400
An integrated thermal protective switch (trigger temperature 115°C) is included in the
following models: LP-30A, LP-40A, LP60HN, LP-60EN, LP-80E, LP-80HN, LP-100H,
LP-120H, LP-150HN, LP-200HN, LW-200, LW-240, LW-300, LW-350, LW-400
