Operating problems
Problem Possible causes Action
Device won’t switch on
• Mains plug not properly
connected
• Faulty fuse
• Push the plug rmly into the
socket
• Pull the power cable out of the
device
• Pull the fuse holder with fuse out
of the cold device built-in plug
(on the side of the enclosure)
• Reinsert the fuse holder, with
a new fuse, into the cold device
built-in plug
Disc inserted but no playback
possible
• Wrong side of the CD up
• Dirty disc
• Burned at home CD used
• Lens fogged up
• If this device was suddenly
moved from a very cold location
to a warm location
• Place with the label side up
• Clean the disc
• Owing to transcription errors
with various CD burners, it may
be the case that some burned
CDs cannot be played back
• Leave to acclimatise for approx.
1 hour
Skipping or unusually slow access-
ing tracks
• Dirty disc
• Scratched disc
• Disturbances caused by
footsteps
• Clean the disc
• Use an undamaged disc
• Place on a stable surface
Preprogramming not possible • Device set to playback
• Track number not available on
CD
• Switch to Stop (entry not
possible with ongoing playback)
• Do not select numbers higher
than the last track on the CD
