The Toast Go 2 serves as a comprehensive handheld POS system, enabling staff to take orders, process payments, and manage tables directly from the device. It integrates with the Toast app for order management, payment processing, and device synchronization. The device supports various payment methods, including chip or tap-enabled cards (EMV), NFC-enabled devices (Apple Pay®, Samsung Pay, Google Pay™), and magnetic strip cards.

Usage Features:
- Initial Setup:
- Ensure the device is fully charged.
- Press and hold the power button to turn it on.
- Connect to the Toast Wi-Fi network.
- Log into the Toast app with your credentials.
- Enable EMV for chip and contactless payments by navigating to Setup > Device Setup, selecting "EMV Enabled," and choosing "Yes."
- Order Management: Allows staff to add items, split bills, apply discounts, and process refunds.
- Payment Processing:
- Chip Cards: Insert chip-first into the EMV Card Slot (A).
- Contactless/Tap Payments: Horizontally align and tap the card/device on the Contactless Card Reader (B). Proper alignment (centered and horizontal) is crucial for successful reads.

- Swipe down from the top for the notification panel.

- Troubleshooting:
- Card Reader Issues: Ensure EMV is enabled. If problems persist, use the Reader Test App. If "Result: Fail," contact customer care. If "Result: Pass," clear Toast POS app defaults (Settings > Apps & notifications > Toast POS > Advanced > Open by default > Clear defaults) and reboot.
- Tapping Issues: Align the card horizontally with the top of the device and move it slightly left or right to find the NFC coil.
- Device Unresponsiveness: Force reboot by holding the Power button for 15 seconds. Ensure the device is charged for at least 30 minutes before attempting a force reboot if it won't power on.
- Toast App Issues: Force quit and relaunch. If persistent, perform a factory reset (Settings > System > Reset options > Erase all data), then download and reinstall the Toast app using the "Download Toast" shortcut on the home screen.
- Printing Issues: Verify connection to the secure Toast Wi-Fi network (Your_Restaurant_Name_Secured).
- Offline Mode: If a device goes offline, do not start the order on another device. Delete the order from the offline device before re-ringing it on a different device.
- Device Synchronization: If blinking red (unsynced payment) or blinking blue (unsynced with other POS devices), ensure connection to secure Toast Wi-Fi, force quit and relaunch the Toast app, then on the passcode screen, select the 3 dots and "Resync Orders."

Maintenance Features:
- General Device Maintenance:
- Do not install other apps on the device.
- Ensure devices are fully charged at the beginning of every shift.
- Avoid water damage to card readers by placing the device upside down in servers' aprons.
- Cleaning:
- Daily Cleaning: Power off the device. Dampen a clean cloth with water or screen cleaner and gently wipe down the device. Air dry completely before turning it back on.
- Deep Cleaning: Power off the device. Spray 70% IPA (Isopropyl Alcohol) onto a clean cloth and gently wipe down the device. Air dry completely before turning it back on.
- Important Cleaning Note: Never spray cleaning products directly on the device. Always use a cloth to prevent liquid from entering open ports or other areas like the card reader.
- Water Damage (if device gets wet):
- If on, turn off immediately.
- Dry the device as much as possible, starting with the EMV Card Slot and Magnetic Strip Card Slot.
- Let the device air dry completely for one to two days before turning it back on.
