4.Cleanthelter-mountingsurfaceofthelter

5.Applyacoatofcleanfueltothegasketofthe
newseparatorlter.

untilthegasketcontactsmountingsurface,then
rotatethelteranadditional1/2turn.
7.Checkthatthedrainvalveatthebottomofthe
fuel-waterseparatorlterisclosed.
8.Starttheengineandcheckforfuelleaksaround
theseparatorlterandlterhead.
9.Shutofftheengine,removethekey,closeand
latchthehood;refertoClosingtheHood(page
40).

Drainandcleanthefueltankifthefuelsystem
becomescontaminatedorifthemachineistobe
storedforanextendedperiod.Usecleanfueltoush
outthetank.
1.Preparethemachineformaintenance;referto
PreparingforMaintenance(page40).
2.Alignadraincontainerunderthedrainvalveat
thebottomofthefueltank(Figure83).

CleaningtheFuel-Intake
Screen
Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,lowerthecutting
units,engagetheparkingbrake,shutofftheengine,
andremovethekey.
Thefuel-intaketube,locatedinsidethefueltank,is
equippedwithascreentohelppreventdebrisfrom
enteringthefuelsystem.Removethefuel-intaketube
andcleanthescreenasrequired.

PreparingforMaintenance(page40).
2.Tilttheseat;refertoTiltingtheSeat(page41).
3.Removetheclampthatsecuresthehosetothe
fuelpick-uptube(Figure84).
