poststomakethelatchestsnugly.

thelatchandthentightenthenut(Figure15).

•Toopenthetailgate,pulloutwardandliftthelatch
up,thenslowlylowerthetailgate(Figure16).

pushitcloseduntilitlocksinplace.
BreakinginaNewVehicle
Toprovideproperperformanceandlongvehiclelife,
followtheseguidelinesfortherst100operatinghours:
•Checktheuidandengineoillevelsregularly
andbealertforindicationsofoverheatinginany
componentofthevehicle.
•Afterstartingacoldengine,letitwarmupforabout
15secondsbeforeaccelerating.
•Avoidhardbrakingsituationsfortherstseveral
hoursofnewvehiclebreak-inoperation.New
brakeliningsmaynotbeatoptimumperformance
untilseveralhoursofusehascausedthebrakesto
becomeburnished(broken-in).
•Varythevehiclespeedduringoperation.Avoidfast
startsandquickstops.
•Abreak-inoilforengineisnotrequired.Original
engineoilisthesametypespeciedforregularoil
changes.
•RefertotheMaintenancesectionforanyspecial
lowhourchecks.
•Checkthefrontsuspensionpositioningand
adjustitifnecessary;refertoAdjustingtheFront
SuspensionintheDriveSystemMaintenance
sectioninMaintenance.
