ServiceInterval:Every25hours—Removetheair-cleaner
coverandcleanoutthedebris.
Every100hours—Changetheair-cleanerlter(more
frequentlyindustyordirtyconditions).
Inspecttheaircleanerandhosesperiodicallytomaintain
maximumengineprotectionandtoensuremaximumservice
life.Checktheair-cleanerbodyfordamage,whichcould
possiblycauseanairleak.Replaceadamagedair-cleanerbody.
Inspectandchangetheair-cleanerlterasdescribedinthe
followingprocedure:
1.Releasethelatchesontheaircleanerandpullthe
air-cleanercoverofftheair-cleanerbody(Figure43).

2.Squeezethedustcapsidestoopenitandknockthe
dustout.
3.Gentlyslidethelteroutoftheair-cleanerbody
(Figure43).
Note:Avoidknockingthelterintothesideofthe
body.

4.Inspectthenewlterfordamagebylookingintothe
lterwhileshiningabrightlightontheoutsideofthe
lter.
Note:Holesinthelterwillappearasbrightspots.
Inspecttheelementfortears,anoilylm,ordamageto
therubberseal.Ifthelterisdamageddonotuseit.
Topreventenginedamage,alwaysoperatetheengine
withtheairlterandcoverinstalled.
Takespecialcaretokeepparticulatesfromdropping
intothecleanareasoftheair-lterhousing.
5.Carefullyslidethelteroverthebodytube(Figure43).
Note:Ensurethatitisfullyseatedbypushingonthe
outerrimofthelterwhileinstallingit.
6.Installtheair-cleanercoverwiththesidefacingup,and
securethelatches(Figure43).
