detergent.Youmayusearagwhenwashingthemachine;
however,thehoodwilllosesomeofitsluster.
Important:Donotusepower-washingequipmentto
washthemachine.Power-washingequipmentmay
damagetheelectricalsystem,loosenimportantdecals,
orwashawaynecessarygreaseatfrictionpoints.Avoid
excessiveuseofwaternearthecontrolpanel,engine,
andbattery.
Important:Donotwashthemachinewiththeengine
running.Washingthemachinewiththeenginerunning
mayresultininternalenginedamage.
Storage
1.Positionthemachineonalevelsurface,settheparking
brake,stoptheengine,andremovethestarterkey.
2.Cleandirtandgrimefromtheentiremachine,including
theoutsideoftheenginecylinderheadnsandblower
housing.
Important:Youcanwashthemachinewithmild
detergentandwater.Donotusehigh-pressure
watertowashthemachine.Pressurewashing
maydamagetheelectricalsystemorwashaway
necessarygreaseatfrictionpoints.Avoidexcessive
useofwater,especiallynearthecontrolpanel,
lights,engine,andthebattery.
3.Inspectthebrakes;refertoCheckingtheBrake-Fluid
Level(page25).
4.Servicetheaircleaner;refertoServicingtheAir
Cleaner(page41).
5.Sealtheaircleanerinletandtheexhaustoutletwith
weatherprooftape.
6.Greasethemachine;refertoGreasingtheBearingsand
Bushings(page39).
7.Changetheengineoilandlter;refertoChangingthe
EngineOilandFilter(page41).
8.Flushthefueltankwithfresh,cleandieselfuel.
9.Secureallfuelsystemttings.
10.Checkthetirepressure;refertoCheckingtheTire
Pressure(page25).
11.Checkantifreezeprotectionandadda50/50solution
ofwaterandantifreezeasneededforexpected
minimumtemperatureinyourarea.
12.Removethebatteryfromthechassis,checkthe
electrolytelevel,andchargeitfully;refertoServicing
theBattery(page45).
Note:Donotconnectthebatterycablestothebattery
postsduringstorage.
Important:Thebatterymustbefullychargedto
preventitfromfreezingandbeingdamagedat
temperaturesbelow0°C(32°F).Afullycharged
batterymaintainsitschargeforabout50days
attemperatureslowerthan4°C(40°F).Ifthe
temperatureswillbeabove4°C(40°F),checkthe
waterlevelinthebatteryandchargeitevery30
days.
13.Checkandtightenallbolts,nuts,andscrews.Repairor
replaceanypartthatisdamaged.
14.Paintallscratchedorbaremetalsurfaces.
