StoringtheBattery
Ifthemachinewillbestoredformorethan30days,
removethebatteryandchargeitfully.Eitherstore
itontheshelforonthemachine.Leavethecables
disconnectedifitisstoredonthemachine.Storethe
batteryinacoolatmospheretoavoidquickdeterioration
ofthechargeinthebattery.Topreventthebatteryfrom
freezing,makesureitisfullycharged.

Whenperformingroutinemaintenanceand/orengine
diagnostics,thetransaxlemustbeshiftedintoneutral
(Figure40).Thevehiclehasaneutralpositiononthe
shiftlever,whichcontrolstheneutralinthetransaxle.
Thefollowingstepsshouldbetakentomakesurethat
theneutralshiftleveroperatesthetransaxleneutral
correctly:
1.SettheshiftleverintotheNeutralposition.
2.Ensurethattheneutralbracketisintheneutral
position(level)byturningthedriveclutch
(Figure40).Thevehicleshouldnotrollbackand
forth.Ifitdoes,manuallymovetheneutralbracket
totheneutralposition.
