Battery
Thebatteryhasaninternalfuseforprotectionandisnotserviceable.
Replacementofthebatteryisrequiredtoxablownfuse.T overifythereisa
blownfuse,testthecircuitonthebatterybetweenthepositiveandnegative
circuits.
TheLEDstatusbaronthebatterywillshowsthecurrentchargelevel.When
thebuttonispressed,thelightsshouldrstcyclethroughalllights,thenendon
thelightshowingtheamountofcharge.Ifnolightscomeonwhenthebuttonis
pushed,themoduleinthebatteryisfailed,replacethebattery.
Thebatterywillgotosleepafterashortperiodoftime.Thepowerheador
chargerwillwakeupthebatteryviathecommunicationline,allowingoperation
ofthemower.
Charger
Thechargerhasaninternalfuseforprotectionandisnotserviceable.When
thereisablownfuse,lightswillnotturnon.
Thechargerwillonlychargewhenthebatteryisinthetemperatureranges
of41–104ºFahrenheit(5–55ºCelsius).Ifthebatteryisinstalledoverthe
temperaturerange,thechargerwillattempttocoolthebatterybeforecharging.
Thechargerstartsthechargeat0.8ampsuntilthebatteryreachesadesired
temperature,thenthechargegoesupto2.0amps.
Ifabatteryisabovetheallowablechargingtemperaturerangeorstoredin
temperaturesabovetheallowablechargingtemperaturerange,thecharger
willattempttocoolthebatterywithaninternalfanifitisoverthecharging
temperaturerangewhenthebatteryisplacedonthecharger.Ifthetemperature
isnotcooledbelowtheallowablerangeintwohours,thechargerwillstopthe
attempttocharge.T orestarttheprocess,un-dockandre-dockthebattery.If
thebatteryisbelowtheallowablechargingtemperaturerangeorstoredin
temperaturesbelowtheallowablechargingtemperaturerange,thechargerwill
waittwohoursafterthebatteryisplacedonthecharger.Ifthebatterydoesnot
warminthetwohours,thechargerwillstopattemptingtocharge.Unlikehot
temperatures,thechargerhasnomeanstowarmthebattery.Torestartthe
process,un-dockandre-dockthebattery.
Whenthebatteryisinstalledinthecharger,thebatteryStateOfCharge(SOC)
lightswillcycle.IftheSOCbuttonwaspressedshortlybeforethebatteryis
placedonthecharger,thelightswillnotcycleagainwhenthebatteryisplaced
onthecharger.
Thechargerlightwillblinkgreenwhenitischargingandthebatteryvoltage
isbelow90%.Thechargerlightwillchangetosolidgreenwhenthebattery
voltageischargedover90%andthechargerwillcontinuechargingto100%.
Ifthebatterywasplacedonthechargerwhenthevoltagewasalreadyabove
90%,thechargerwillnotinitiatethechargeprocessto100%.Thechargerlight
willbesolidgreen.
Thechargerisnotatrickletypecharger,asfoundwithleadacidbatteries.This
typeofcontinuoustricklechargingattheendofchargewilldamagealithiumion
battery.
