1.Onthelastrefuelingoftheyear,addfuelstabilizer
(suchasToroPremiumFuelTreatment)tothefuel.
2.Disposeofanyunusedfuelproperly.Recycleit
accordingtolocalcodes,oruseitinyourautomobile.
Note:Oldfuelinthefueltankistheleadingcauseof
hardstarting.Donotstorefuelwithoutstabilizermore
than30days,anddonotstorestabilizedfuelmorethan
90days.
3.Runthemachineuntiltheengineshutsofffrom
runningoutoffuel.
4.Starttheengineagain.
5.Allowtheenginetorununtilitshutsoff.Whenyou
cannolongerstarttheengine,itissufcientlydry.
6.Disconnectthewirefromthesparkplugandremove
theelectric-startbutton(electric-startmodelonly).
7.Removethesparkplug,add30ml(1oz)ofengine
oilthroughthespark-plughole,andpullthestarter
ropeslowlyseveraltimestodistributeoilthroughout
thecylindertopreventcylindercorrosionduringthe
off-season.
8.Looselyinstallthesparkplug.
9.Tightenallnuts,bolts,andscrews.
10.Electric-startmodelonly:Chargethebatteryfor24
hours,thenunplugthebatterychargeranstorethe
machineinanunheatedarea.Ifyoumuststorethe
machineinaheatedarea,youmustchargethebattery
every90days.RefertoChargingtheBattery(page20).
RemovetheMachinefrom

1.Chargethebatteryfor24hours;refertoChargingthe
Battery(page20).
2.Checkandtightenallfasteners.
3.Removethesparkplugandspintheenginerapidlyby
pullingtherecoil-starthandletoblowtheexcessoil
fromthecylinder.
4.Installthesparkplugandtightenitwithatorque
wrenchto20N∙m(15ft-lb).

6.Checktheengine-oillevel;refertoCheckingthe
Engine-OilLevel(page9).
7.Fillthefueltankwithfreshfuel;refertoFillingthe
