Note:Whenthecrankcaseisempty,pourabout3/4ofthe
crankcasecapacityofoilinthecrankcase,thenfollowthe
procedureinthissection.
1.Movethemowertoalevelsurface.
2.Cleanaroundthedipstick(Figure9).
3.Removethedipstickbyrotatingthecap
counterclockwiseandpullingitout.
4.Wipethedipstickcleanwithacleancloth.
5.Insertthedipstickintothellerneck(butdonot
rotatethecapclockwisetosecureit),thenremoveit.
6.Readtheoillevelonthedipstick.
7.Iftheoillevelreadingisbelowthelowerlimitmarkon
thedipstick,removethedipstickandslowlypouronly
enoughoilintothellerholetoraisetheoillevelto
theupperlimitmarkonthedipstick.
Important:Donotoverllthecrankcasewithoil
andruntheengine;enginedamagewillresult.
Draintheexcessoiluntiltheoillevelreachesthe
upperlimitmarkonthedipstick.
8.Insertthedipstickintothellerneckandrotatethecap
clockwiseuntilitistight.
